This stump-dotted landscape once was a jungle of honeysuckle. Through the fall and winter, armed with a pruning saw, I massacred the bushes and piled the brush, and yesterday Lee Ann and I hauled 11 pickup loads to the compost lot. Voila. I have grass seeded most of this area, and am spading up a little square of it near the old swingset for a vegetable garden.
